Working from a scan of the original
painting, this image was restored using my artist eye, time and talent
to its original beauty. Restoration and "cleaning" can take a few days
to several weeks, with some paintings needing such intensive restoration that
the final result would be considered a derivative work. This painting
was created in 1908 and is readily available online in its un-restored
version. It is my joy to give my work away in high resolution for
non-commercial use. For commercial use, see our fee examples that

There is so much great commentary and teaching on this site, that we think it's important that we have a "Statement of Faith" so you may rest assured that nothing
is contrary to God's Word. As a matter of fact, we have made the decision with our images that, if it's not in the Bible, you won't find it here. This is our attempt to keep this site Christ-centered.
Since we want to show ALL the wonderful art, there's going to be times that you might see something that is Biblically incorrect - like the Wise Men with the baby Jesus in the manger,
clothes from a different era, and even no clothes at all! We won't be censoring art, but anything that doesn't exactly line up with scripture will be placed after the same theme art with
the correct depiction.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
God is one God in three persons (Elohim) [Genesis 1:1-2,26; John 1:1-2,14] known as the Holy Trinity: God the Father, Jesus Christ His one and only begotten Son [John 3:16], and the Holy Spirit. God is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient and sovereign. Jesus
the Christ was born of a virgin and conceived by the Holy Spirit [Luke 1:26-35; Matthew 1:18] fully God and fully man [John 5:18; Philippians 2:6-7].
Salvation into eternal life is only through Jesus Christ [John 14:6] as a result of His death, burial and resurrection on the 3rd day [Philippians 2:8; Matthew 28:1-7; Luke 24:1-10,46]
an all-sufficient atoning for our sins to those who believe [John 3:16; Romans 5:8, 10:9].
Christ has now ascended to be at the right hand of the Father [Acts 2:33] serving as our mediator [Galatians 3:19-20; 1 Timothy 2:3-6]. Salvation is a free gift of unmerited grace through faith in Jesus Christ [Ephesians 2:8-9]. Jesus’ death also fulfilled the Law of Moses [Matthew 5:17]; consequently, Christians are free from this bondage [Galatians 3:10-25].
We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God [Romans 3:10, 3:23], and in need of a Savior to save us from eternal death [Romans 6:23]. Jesus paid the price by dying
on the Cross [1 Corinthians 1:18, Philippians 2:8] and the shedding of His Blood for our sins [1st Peter 1:18-19, Romans 5:8, 1st Timothy 1:15]. When we believe in Jesus, the Son of God, we gain eternal life [John 3:16, John 11:25, John 14:6, John 6:40, Romans 10:13]. Salvation is not found in religion or good works, but in
Christ Jesus our Lord alone.
[Ephesians 2:8-10]
Truth is an attribute of God [Jeremiah 10:10; John 1:14; 14:6; 17:3], and God
speaks truthfully - that is, He does not lie [Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29;
Titus 1:2; Romans 3:3-4]. All Scripture is "God breathed" [2 Timothy 3:16] and
true [John 17:14,17]. Even though human beings were used in the process of
writing down God's Word, God did not permit the will of sinful man to divert,
misdirect, or erroneously record His message [John 14:26,
1 Corinthians 2:13, 1 Thess. 2:13 , 2 Peter 1:21].
By the Word alone, by Faith alone, by Grace
alone, through Christ alone,
we give glory to God alone.
" Now the Lord is that Spirit; and
where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all,
with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are
being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by
the Spirit of the Lord.
Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do
not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not
walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by
manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s
conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel is veiled, it is
veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age
has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the
glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves
your servants for Jesus’ sake.
For God, who commanded the light to
shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of
the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
~2 Corinthians 3:17-18, 4:1-6
